Hintz sin skulptur er plassert midt i Bodø sentrum på Molorota, og åpner en dør mellom byens fortid og fremtid. Skulpturen henvender seg til publikum på en leken måte, som stimulerer til deltagelse, samtale og diskusjon.

Leder døra oss inn eller ut, mot fortiden eller fremtiden? Bodø er en by som i flere omganger har vært preget av endring. Døra er et universalt symbol som kan bety åpenhet og forandring, men også beskyttelse.

Å gå gjennom en dør har flere faser; øyeblikket med usikkerhet foran den lukkede døra, bestemmelsen om å åpne den og tre gjennom, og mulighetene eller forandringene som kan åpenbare seg på den andre siden. Hintzs skulptur tilbyr en refleksjon over endring, som publikum selv kan ta del i.

Kerstin Hintz (f. 1977) bor og arbeider i Matadepera i Spania. Hun har sin utdannelse fra Muthesius Kunsthochschule i Kiel, og arbeider blant annet med installasjoner og skulpturer i keramikk. Hun har stilt ut ved blant annet School of Art and Design, Terrassa (2016-2020), Museu de la Terrissa de Quart (2020), Fundation Cuixart, Palafrugell (2022) og Inund'art Festival Girona (2023).

Hintz's sculpture is located in the heart of Bodø, at Molorota, and opens a door between the city’s past and future. The sculpture engages the public in a playful manner, stimulating participation, conversation, and discussion.

Does the door lead us in or out, towards the past or the future? Bodø is a city that has been shaped by change on several occasions. A door is a universal symbol that can represent openness and transformation, but also protection.

Walking through a door involves several stages: the moment of uncertainty in front of the closed door, the decision to open it and step through, and the opportunities or changes that may reveal themselves on the other side. Hintz's sculpture offers a reflection on change, in which the audience can actively participate.

Kerstin Hintz (b. 1977) lives and works in Matadepera, Spain. She was educated at Muthesius University of Fine Arts in Kiel, and works with installations and sculptures, particularly in ceramics. She has exhibited at the School of Art and Design, Terrassa (2016-2020), Museu de la Terrissa de Quart (2020), Fundation Cuixart, Palafrugell (2022), and the Inund'art Festival Girona (2023).
